Creating a Lifestyle Blog is probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. Maybe not in my whole life, but at least in the last couple of years. A few years ago my life took a drastic change. I suddenly found myself in a new relationship and living in a new city. My career remained the same, but things were just different. My family had grown which was a good thing, but my mom was facing the initial stages of dementia and I knew things would never be the same.
WHY A LIFESTYLE BLOG?
I have always dreamt of a place where I could share about things I love and enjoy. A place where I could help or guide others from my own life experiences. Writing and driving are therapeutical to me, so I knew driving would help me come up with ideas and blogging would become my happy place.
In this place, I could share with others and others could share with me. This would be a place where people would come together to share, ask questions, provide answers and/or offer suggestions. Ultimately a place where we could interact with each other or simply lay back and enjoy each other’s stories. This was my escape where I could put my feelings on paper, yet also talk about things I enjoyed. I am a people person, and that’s how SincerelyMayra came about.
In my blog I talk about everything and anything from fashion, to lifestyles, relationships, love, family, pets, and careers. I consider this blog a friendly place where people can read about different things going on in my life or in the world in general. They can also reach out and ask questions or vent on anything going on in their lives. I also love interacting with other bloggers. I have made many friends and created a number of relationships. Through blogging I have also been able to collaborate with a few companies and serve as an influencer, which has lead me to the world of influencing.
CHILD INFLUENCERS
There are thousands of influencers, if not millions, promoting all sorts of things, from fashion to entertainment and a ton more subjects. Everyone seems to have their niche and they seem to be making a great life for themselves. Now, what has caught my attention are the child influencers. These children are becoming influencers at a very young age. Research shows that these children have a large number of followers and are also making a nice chunk of change.
The next question on my end would be, “is this legal?” Should children of such young ages be allowed to become influencers? Is becoming an influencer at a young age considered child labor? Are these children doing these jobs voluntarily or are they being pressured to do them?
ARE THERE LAWS THAT PROTECT A CHILD INFLUENCER?
There appear to be certain laws in place that require a certain percentage of the child’s earnings to be placed in a separate account. These monies would be available to the child once they reach a majority age. I don’t have answers to my own questions, but I did come across an article that may enlighten us. However, as long as the child’s income is being protected until he or she becomes of age, and they love what they do, it should be okay. When it comes to child influencers, we should all be well informed. I hope you enjoy reading this article and that it answers some if not most of our questions.
WHAT MAKES A GOOD INFLUENCER?
In my opinion becoming an influencer is a good thing, especially for the brand. An Influencer’s job is not as simple as it sounds. It is important for the Influencer to be well informed about the brand he or she is promoting. It is also important to capture the reader’s attention in a positive manner. I don’t think age matters as long as the Influencer is well informed on what they are promoting.
As I mentioned earlier in this post, most influencers have a special niche and they are well informed in the subject. Take for instance Vikina Lopez, a Latina Singer/Songwriter. Vilkina has a huge following that extends from South America to Europe. She has been able to create such a huge following because of her knowledge in the field. She’s been lucky and most if not all of the pitches she’s received line up with her brand. I’m sure brand do their research before reaching out to Influencers. However, it is awesome to see how Vilkina is a positive Influencer for others.
I am all for Influencers of any age, so long as they are doing the work voluntarily. Additionally, if the Influencer is a young child, their money must be protected until they become of age.
