Hi there, I want to share with you 5 superfoods that I have been eating lately for weight loss. Although I’m not heavy, I tend to hold the most waist around my belly. However, I have noticed that with these superfoods, my belly fat is not as much as before.

Avocado is one of my favorite superfoods. This creamy fruit is packed with fiber and protein.  I can eat it any which way but love to have it with sliced tomatoes. 🙂 I know you are probably thinking “oh but avocados have fat.” That is true, however, there’s no reason to be afraid of eating fats. You can actually eat fats as long as they are the right kind of fats. Avocados contain Oleic acid which is a compound in their monounsaturated fats or MUFAs, and they actually trigger your body to quiet hunger. Try having a quarter or a half of an avocado and watch that belly fat melt away.

Salmon is another superfood you should try. Although I was not a huge fan of Salmon, lucky for me, I gave it a second chance and now I love it. The first time I tried Salmon I hated it. I didn’t like the taste and was simply not a fan. However, salmon is a great source of protein and its lean sources of protein can also help you feel full without adding fat. I truly recommend that you eat salmon more often. It’s definitely a much leaner choice that any red meat out there. Give this one a try, especially if you have scratched it off your list of yummy foods. 🙂

It’s so funny how many of the foods that I used to dislike, are now part of my weekly diet. Blueberries for instance, I would always pick these out of any yogurt parfait or fruit bowl I would have. I like them in muffins, but for some reason I couldn’t get used to eating the actual fruit. Now I love them and I make sure to eat them every chance I get. Blueberries are best known for their anti-aging effects. Although they are small they are a powerful figure-friendly fruit to have. I eat 1/4 cup serving but I read that a 1-cup serving only contains 80 calories and 4 grams of fiber. Not bad for a snack.

Ok now to the yummy rice. Who doesn’t love a nice bowl of rice, huh? Well I am a huge fan of white rice and will admit that I have it every change I get. However, whenever I have the option to choose brown rice, I do. 🙂  Brown rice is a heartier, fiber-packed alternative to the super white rice. A half-cup serving contains only 1.7 grams of resistant starch, which is a carb that boosts metabolism and burns fat. Brown rice is also a low energy density food, and although it’s heavy and filling its low in calories. Try it with Salmon and make it extra special.

And finally, lets talk grapefruit, yummmmmy!! Yes I totally love grapefruits. For some reason I love the tartness. Call me crazy, but I also love biting into a nice piece of lime, haha. 🙂 Even if you change nothing else about your diet, I strongly recommend eating half a grapefruit before each meal. Believe it or not it will help you lose at least a pound a week. Sounds crazy, but it does work. Grapefruits are also a good source of protein, and since they are mainly water, it can fill you up so you eat less every time. Give it a shot.
